Why RasaReka?
In my language, Rasa means taste and Reka means create. RasaReka is driven by stories - of people, culture, places, and emotions.
Each website is an interpretation of these, translated into design with clarity and purpose. From the first conversation to the final build, every decision is made intentionally so that each site carries the depth and layers of the work, not a summary of it.

Genetics, yoga then, website?
Having spent years in research labs at Cal Poly and Duke University, the kind of background that makes sense to people, and then I left. which is the kind of background that makes sense to people because they understand what that means.
I started practicing yoga when I was looking for ways to fill up my time while waiting for LA traffic to die down and I also found design in a similar fashion, when I was looking for things to do after I was out of a yoga teaching job during COVID.
And I kept running into teachers, healers, makers, facilitators who were doing deeply meaningful work and couldn't figure out how to put it into words. Or worse, they had words, but their site made them look like everyone else.
Just like anything, there are always slow seasons. Times I questioned whether this was the right path. Times I almost talked myself into going back to what felt "safer." But I kept coming back to the same thing: I was built for this kind of deep listening. For sitting with someone's story long enough to find what's true in it and then making that visible.
That's what I bring to every project. Not just good design. The willingness to stay in the conversation until we get it right.
Skill in Action
Skill in Action has been a guiding place for many people practicing yoga through the lens of justice. Over the years the site expanded from the book to holding more and more offerings, teachings, and resources. And, it was time for it to breathe again. With the addition of the new on-demand course as well a growing team of facilitators, the site was re-designed to feel clear, steady, and reflective of where the work is now.
